Printing directly from your mobile has been realised as a must for many professionals that want to avoid the endless cycle of emailing yourself documents to print from your desktop. These days there are a plethora of apps out there that allow you to print directly from your smartphone.

Print n Share

This app is goes beyond your usual printing app and can print to most WiFi enabled printers as well as those connected to a Mac or PC. It can even print over 3G so you can print something while you are out of the office safe in the knowledge it will be waiting for you when you return. It has functionality which allows you to print from other services like Dropbox and iDisk as well as a whole host of advanced features which will put a smile on all those techno-geek faces!

PrintJinni

This robust app is free but you have to subscribe to the service to keep using it after the thirty day free trial period. You can use the app to not only print Microsoft office content but also a variety of web and social media content too. There are even quick print options if you just want to print selected text when you are browsing the web or just on the go.

Printer Pro

Printer Pro is truly dedicated to printing, the app allows you can open all compatible files into Printer Pro and print them to one of the many supported printers. It has a lite version so if you aren’t sure if your printer is compatible you can try it out for free. Printer Pro also has the ability to print files from Dropbox, MobileMe, Google Docs and the photo gallery. If you don’t have an Airplay compatible printer this may be the next best thing.

Samsung Mobile Print

If you are a Samsung fan then this is worth looking into. Print, Scan or send Fax wirelessly from your Android phone, tablet, or any other supported Android device to almost any Samsung Laser Printer. Samsung Mobile Print allows you to print or send a fax in most of the digital formats like Office documents, PDF, images, emails, web pages or even the contents on your social network sites.

Epson iPrint

The Epson iPrint mobile app makes it easy to print from your smartphone to a variety of Epson models, and unfortunately its only Epson. Using WiFi, this mobile app can print, scan and share selected documents with a swipe of a finger. The Epson iPrint features compatibility for a variety of Microsoft Office products including, Word, Excel and PDF documents, as well as, webpages, all of which can be printed directly from your mobile device. This app also supports online file hosting sites such as Dropbox, Box, Evernote and Google Docs.

primos

Ok, so this isn’t strictly an app... but it does open up a new realm of mobile printing. The all-in-one solution, primos, was designed for application in corporate environments, and makes it possible to print any common document, image or graphic format quickly and intuitively. The type and make of printer is as immaterial to the technology as is the question of AirPrint support. No new software or apps need to be installed, and no new investments need to be made in costly hardware and print servers. Implementing the system is strikingly simple – the primos hardware comes in the form of a handy, compact box measuring 108 x 108 x 33 mm, and only needs a physical connection to the corporate network.
