Vodafone unveiled its new 3G handsets for the Christmas season including 10 exclusives and two handsets from LG, the first time Voda have had offered any of the South Korean manufacturers wares.
The network, trying to generate extra revenue through higher paying 3G services to boost slowing sales growth, said it would sell 10 exclusive 3G phones sourced from top European, U.S. and Asian manufacturers, with five of them at entry level prices.
Vodafone will sell six high speed internet HSDPA phones made by Motorola and Samsung Electronics.
The two LG handsets are the LG KU800 Chocolate and the an exclusive - the LG L600V which supports mobile TV. The LG devices, both at entry level pricing, support Vodafone live! with 3G services, including video calling and music downloads.
Other notable phones include the Nokia 6234 the first exclusive handset from Nokia which boasts a 2 megapixel camera and stereo music speakers.
One of the offerings from Motorola is the V1100, a 3G broadband phone with HSDPA and sporty design. Samsungs available are the ZV40, a multimedia all-rounder in stylish clamshell format, and the ZV50 a feature-packed, compact clamshell.
Vodafone will also have the Sony Ericsson V630i, a phone for music lovers with dedicated music keys and supports music streaming. It also comes with a 256mb memory card.
Also on the list will be the Sagem my600V and my800V, the Sharp 770SH and Vodafone’s first own branded 3G handset, the Vodafone 710 – another phone priced at the lower end to encourage further adoption of 3G services amongst pre-pay customers.
