Motorola is paying £103m for Cambridge-based TTPcom, which might seem generous for a loss-making business whose revenues slipped 36% last year to £37.2m. But this is one of a string of acquisitions of small technology companies that can provide key elements of Motorola’s “seamless mobility” strategy.
In TTPcom’s case there are several relevant areas – convergence, indoor coverage, and low-cost handsets.
