The W900i is the third phone in the Walkman series and adds a lot of functionality compared to the benchmark W800i. Its entertainment options are wide – 3G support, brilliant MP3 player, 2-megapixel camera, memory cards, top-class display – and a novel swivelling action exposes the keypad.
It uses the standard-setting music player from the W800. It’s a good digital camera too, with a resolution up to 1632˘1224 pixels; the same auto-focus camera can be found in Sony Ericsson’s K750/D750 and W800.
In this phone the earphones are connected to the cable through a standard 3.5mm jack connector. That allows buyers to use whatever headphones they want, which typically means better-quality earphones than the buds supplied in the box. In the middle of the supplying cable you will find one of the W900’s real innovations – the remote control. It is pretty small and flat and perfectly suits the black version of the phone. On its front cover there is a button and a tiny black and white display; it also has the RDS FM radio that has been removed from the phone itself.
•The prefect 3G Walkman.
