Here’s another classic Sony Ericsson K-series design for a tri-band camera phone aimed squarely at the mainstream market – people who want functionality and reliability rather than luxury features or raw power.
The phone offers very good camera performance for its class, good connectivity features and very fast response in a compact form factor. The user interface is lightning-fast and there’s a great web browser on board. The size and weight make it comfortable and easy to operate; construction is solid and stable (not a single creak during testing); and the black and silver combination is elegant – though the design cannot mislead you to think that the K510 is an expensive phone.
On the downside, the backlighting is indifferent and cannot be changed (the preset period is very short). The 128x160 pixels display isn’t Sony Ericsson’s best, either, and there’s no memory card slot. Still, a reasonable price will mean the K510 will have lots of fans and satisfied customers.
