Phone cancer threat returns

Just when you thought it was safe to use a phone, a new Swedish study has revealed increased risk of malignant brain tumours associated with heavy, long-term mobile phone usage. A study of 905 phone users with brain tumours concluded that there was a link; the researchers, writing in the journal International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health,

argued that positive results like the recent fouryear British survey that showed no link are down to the short timescale covered. They say “both longer latency period and high cumulative number of hours for use are necessary to get a more precise estimate of the risk”.
