Not to be confused with Orange's "Unique" VoIP service, Unique Distribution have announced their support in the development and implementation of a new mobility solution with the Nokia Eseries on behalf of Westcon Group, a multi-national supplier of networking and security technologies.
The launch of Westcon’s ‘extension to cellular’ is the result of nine months work in partnership with seven vendors and support partners to enable the supply of Nokia’s Eseries dual-mode mobile devices pre-configured with a range of business solutions. The initial proposition will leverage the functionality of Avaya’s Multivantage and Multivantage Express solutions.
The Nokia Eseries offer dual mode transfer between GPRS, WiFi and GSM networks. In addition to product supply Unique will undertake a multilayer configuration process which will include the Avaya client together with ‘push’ email and mobile device management utilising Intellisync.
As a security measure Unique will ensure that these new devices are bundled with data encryption, anti virus and firewall functionality, enabling mobile workers to access confidential and important corporate information whilst on the move. The bundle also offers a remote disable feature to delete data from lost or stolen devices.
Unique’s head of managed services, David Hinc, said “Since the introduction of the Eseries we have been working closely with Nokia to promote the virtues of these outstanding business devices. The launch of the Westcon solution makes all of the hard work worthwhile.”
