Elite Mobile has been appointed as UK and Ireland distributor for the new CarTrek 400s satellite navigation system. The 400s is an on-board, media-based ‘plug and go’ system that joins the off-board Navig8 launched here by Elite Mobile a year ago.
The RRP is £249 including VAT, which buys a good spec including 3.5in touchscreen, a 256Mb SD card with British Isles maps, speed camera detection, free updates for 12 months, and a two-year warranty.
As well as the standard black model, there will be a limited edition in pink. The CarTrek is actually being aimed at women, according to its developer Kwality Trading. “Women’s personal safety is paramount,” says Spencer Sharpe, MD of the company. “If more use a sat nav, then they have more chance of arriving at their destination safely. By producing a high spec, portable device in attractive casing, we hope more women will be attracted to it and will use it to their own personal benefit and safety.”
