Microsoft and 3 have signed an agreement that sees MSN Messenger and MSN Hotmail made available on 3 Group networks.
3 will offer access via a web portal or by downloaded or preinstalled software on handsets. Both companies say they expect more frequent mobile-to-mobile and PC-to- mobile interaction.
Hotmail is one of the world’s largest web-based email services, with 230m active accounts; MSN Messenger, the world’s most used free instant messaging service,has 205m customers worldwide. Initially, the services will be available to 3 customers in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Sweden, Denmark, Austria and Australia.
