3 Ireland has a new managing director to replace the recently departed Stephen Pilkington. Robert Finnegan was most recently CEO of Sentrio Technologies, another Hutchison Whampoa company that provideshosted mobile resource solutions; he will report directly to 3 UK and Ireland CEO Bob Fuller. Finnegan’s background also include CEO and senior finance roles at a number of FMCG companies – Nestle, Lyons Tetley, Procter and Gamble. Naturally he professes himself a fan of what 3 is doing: “I’ve been watching 3 closely since its Irish launch in July, and I firmly believe that with its fresh approach and excellent value proposition, the company will make a significant impact on the Irish mobile market.”Fuller observed: “We’re delighted to have someone of Robert’s calibre leading the charge in Ireland. His strong track record in building businesses within the Hutchison Whampoa Group makes him the ideal candidate for the job.“I believe he will be instrumental in building profitable market share and firmly establishing 3 in the eyes of Irish customers.”
